Falling
If I just let go...
If I let go of life’s moorings, will you catch me if I fall
will you wrap your arms around me as I trip into the maw
of the catchment of life’s anguishes that find us by the day
then soothe me with your sacred breath that quells the sullen night.
If you find me in a hazy dream, with distance in my gaze
take me to a hidden cove and swim with me in grace
by the way that you hold onto me and swirl on through the fog
if I drown in life’s insanity, please save me when I fall.
If you see me in a ragged mess that life tries to inflict
gather up the haggard lot of me you can’t predict
where we’ll go… oh wait you know, our puzzle is now fit
apply your wondrous gauze of care and hold me as a babe.
I’m falling
Falling into love that captured our hearts
I’m falling
I will hold you up when life pushes you down
You’re falling
Fall now with me but don’t let me keep you down
We’re falling
In and out of step but return to our one.
Soothe me with your sacred breath that quells the sullen night.
Soothe me with your sacred breath
Soothe me

This is such a vulnerable piece, Scott
The refrain of "falling" transforms so beautifully from fear into surrender,
It feels like a love letter to both vulnerability and to the person who makes that vulnerability safe.
thank you for sharing something so intimate
